AOSSCI rushed to Jiguan Mountain of Chongzhou for disaster relief

     From August 19 to 23, under the influence of continuous torrential rain, the torrent of Jiguan Mountain in Chongzhou City, Sichuan Province, rose sharply, resulting in pavement subsidence, mountain collapse, subgrade damage, communication interruption and other disasters in varying degrees. The safety of life and property of local people and tourists was seriously threatened.

     As a local enterprise in Sichuan, AOSSCI Technology immediately started the emergency response plan after receiving the orders from the municipal government, and rushed to the front line for emergency rescue work.

     Luo Qiang, Deputy Secretary of Chengdu Municipal Committee, and Mayor of Chengdu City, Ou Zhaodu, Secretary of Chongzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of Chongzhou City, along with rescue workers arrived in the disaster site one after another.

     It was reported that 24 breakpoints had been found in 31 kilometers of the Jiguanshan road influenced by the heavy rainfall. The river was scouring fiercely and it was difficult to rush through.

    In view of the specific situation of road interruption and traffic damage, the X-Swift UAV was dispatched by AOSSCI for disaster relief.

    At about 5:20 pm, X-Swift carrying an orthographic camera took 360° photographs of the scene. It quickly acquired "life images" including the location distribution of personnel and vehicles, which comprehensively and vividly reflected the actual situation of the disaster scene and created favorable conditions for rescue and disaster relief.

    At 7:30 p.m. on August 23, after emergency rescue, the police in Chongzhou City successfully rescued all the trapped people.

     "Thanks to the two AOSSCI X-Swift UAVs, the life road could be set up quickly", a police officer at the scene said.

     With the advent of night, the danger coefficient and the difficulty of search and rescue of trapped people had increased. In order to catch the golden time of rescue, X-Swift hovered over the target area, and transmitted the information back in real-time. By carrying infrared camera, X-Swift accurately tracked the trapped people at night.

     "In Jiguan Mountain, we are very sad to see the people affected. It is also our duty to make a little effort for rescue and disaster relief through our own technology and work! " one of AOSSCI team members said.

     During the rescue, AOSSCI UAV carried out two flights. For the first flight, it completed the road reconnaissance quickly. For the second flight, it tracked all the trapped people accurately at night through the infrared camera equipped by X-Swift to ensure the safe return of all the people.

     In recent years, UAV plays an important role in disaster reconnaissance, disaster investigation and post-disaster reconstruction by virtue of its flexible, fast and efficient advantages. At present, UAV has become one of the components of the national aviation emergency rescue system. In the future, AOSSCI will continue to cooperate with provincial and municipal departments in emergency rescue work with a high sense of social responsibility.
