School-Enterprise Communication:AOSSCI enters Business School of Sichuan University

What is an industrial UAV? What are the main application scenarios of UAV at present? How to develop industrial UAV in the future?

On the evening of December 17, 2019, Dr. Guo Liang, CEO of AOSSCI , gave a wonderful speech on industrial UAV to the students of Business School of Sichuan University.

From the invention of airplane in 1903 to now, many aircrafts with different uses and performances have been born in the aviation field. As an important branch, UAV appeared in 1915. UAV was primarily used for military purposes, however, in recent years, consumer UAV has developed rapidly and become an electronic product for people's aerial photography and entertainment.

Taking aerial mapping as an example, mapping, as a traditional industry, has always been dominated by the field operations. After the introduction of UAV, the work efficiency has been greatly increased. It is particularly advantageous for large-scale mapping. In addition, UAV is used to investigate the earthquake disaster and to detect and rescue personnel; in the emergency material management, UAV is used to transport blood; in the anti-terrorism field, UAV can effectively detect the actions of terrorists. In the 5G background, UAV can play a greater role by using the characteristics of 5G, such as low delay, large bandwidth and multiple connections. According to relevant forecast reports, "its annual global market share is expected to grow from 5 billion dollars in 2019 to 14.5 billion dollars in 2028, and the annual total in 2023 will exceed the consumer UAVs."

No matter from the perspective of technology, market or policy, industrial UAVs have broad prospects. Finally, Dr. Guo Liang and the students had a heated exchange and discussion on the following issues: Will the application of UAV technology change dramatically? What are the advantages and values of AOSSCI UAVs? What is the application of consumer UAV in real life? How to avoid obstacles for UAV? Dr. Guo Liang expressed his views on the questions of the students one by one. He said that the core competitiveness of the enterprise lies in the understanding of the aviation industry, the market demand, and the most practical technologies to meet the demand, rather than the most advanced technologies.
